Everyone Else Is Dating


Teens often pay attention to what their peers do. When one group of teens tries something new, other teens may become more curious. Dating is something many but not all young people want to try.


Popular media such as movies, televisions and music also push the idea that everyone is dating. However, the fact is that many teens do not date!

Hormones affect some of the attraction we feel toward people. These natural chemicals control body functions and help young bodies grow. During puberty, a teen 's body starts to change.

Sex organs mature. For example, a girl 's breast develope and grow. At the same time, girls experience on increase in levels of the hormones estrogen and progesterone. The hormone testosterone increase in boys.

Hormones cause people to think more about sex. They stimulate a person's sexual disire. This is natural. They may cause teen to want a close, special relationship.
